My junk drawer is filled with valuable items which have outlived their usefulness but I cannot part with them. But I know that one day (soon) I will need that whatchmacallit and it will be there for me.

Three days after you throw it away. That’s my philosophy of small hoarding justification. I seldom throw anything away so I can’t prove my hypothesis. I win.

As usual, I keep all the plastic clips that come on bags of onions and potatoes. I don't know why I keep them, I NEVER use them. They're gone now (until the next time I buy something that has one).

I cleaned out my aluminum foil drawer. It also has tins of rubber bands, twist ties, a small box with batteries. I tossed a couple of old chip bag clips that we never used, weird sized foil that we'll never use, the handle to some pot that I probably threw away a long time ago, & many, many packets of pepper flakes from the pizza shop.

BTW, if you like pepper flakes, Flatiron Pepper Co has the best. I'm addicted to this variety. Soup, salad, eggs, pasta, hummus, PIZZA! I put it on everything. I buy 2-3 bottles at a time. It has some serious bite to it!

my poor hubby had to cut down the ends to fit into the holder. He was born into the liberal Protestant Congregational Church but had converted to Judaism years before I even met him. He grew up non-religiously Christian and always had had xmas trees, so he had the experience. I was brought up totally "unchurched."
