What was meant to be a hover turned into a FLEDGE! Gizmo the Big Bear juvenile eagle. 8:27 am Sat.

There were up to 80,000+ viewers watching this FOBBV live cam waiting for the eggs to be laid, the pip, the hatching, the first feedings, the first snow, the death of one chick, the ups and downs of this beautiful eagle family - lots of classrooms were tuned in.

I tuned in this morning the nest was empty!! - Gizmo has fledged to the Simba Tree.

I was worried when I saw her slip, but I switched to the wide view and backed up to watch her fly to the Simba Tree. She's still in that tree! She's flapped her wings a few times, but isn't quite ready to continue the adventure!

pretty good learning experience. I've learned so much from watching this eagle family.

I wonder if that accidental fledging traumatized her?

Edit: She finally moved to a different tree; she's fine.
