4. I'm being ignored and blocked by 4, can't figure out why

since most of my posts are in the Lounge and are cat-related. The stuff I occasionally post in other forums is pretty tame; I avoid arguments and try very hard not to be snarky or rude. Never had a post sent to a jury, complained about in Meta, locked, hidden or deleted. So I, too, have no idea whom I pissed off, or why. Probably never will.

I've accidentally hit the "ignore" under an OP's post - the dang thing is lined right up with the "Greatest Threads" tab. I've backed out of the "ignore" when I've realized what I've done, but I've always wondered if I've ever inadvertently put someone on ignore without realizing it. (Although obviously you weren't one of the victims, otherwise I wouldn't be in here answering your post...

and was surprised to see that there is one who is ignoring me and one who is blocking mail from me.

I can think of a reason why I'm being ignored but can't figure who it would be

and I can think of a person who might but I don't know why he/she would do so.

So, I guess I'll just keep on doing what I'm doing and ignore that someone is ignoring me. No one need to block any mail since I never send any anyway.

Answer: you don't know. Unless someone tells you. I only know this for sure because I had someone tell me that they had been on a jury for my post and they gave me the results.....luckily all leave it with snide comments about the waste of their time. But I never knew about it.

I had one person ignoring me at one point, none now (can't figure that out either, why stop ignoring me if they felt that it was important to them). It rather surprised me, but it didn't bother me at all....the people I like to communicate with were still replying to my posts, so who cares.

Any time you disagree with someone, esp on certain subjects, someone is probably going to put you on ignore (usu. preceded by an ugly post).

I haven't had a post hidden in the last 90 days, either. But probably those ignoring me alerted some of posts to be hidden. I have a vague recollection of a post hidden a long time ago, but that was a misunderstanding, and the jurors didn't bother to read my post. What I said was offensive...but I was quoting from a prior post and taking the opposite position. Jurors didn't bother to read the post. They just saw the offensive line and hit "hide." C'est la vie.

YOU might consider placing some on ignore in the future. They can't vote on a jury against you.

which is SO weird, because I'm really not very controversial. I don't mix it up with anyone, or get into fights or have posts hidden. Guess some people are just pissy...

There was one member, who has been here almost as long as I have, who seems to have some sort of weird cult following here (which I can't figure out,) who wrote something really ridiculous, so I called them out mildly. They responded with such venom at that point... I wrote a PM to them apologizing for my response, and never ever heard back from them (even tho I was definitely the lesser of the two evils in the exchange.) And I got back... crickets... so no doubt that person is one of my ignores.

Of course I've been here over ten years, so I imagine I've collected them along the way.

Everyone gets an automatic 2 full ignores when they get to 100 posts. That's what happened to me.

I'm just making that up but there are so many with 2 ignores for no seeming reason I wonder if 2 star members just ignore everyone they find. Now that would be productive.
