Long time Trower fan.
But, whenever I hear his stuff I so miss Jimmy Dewar's voice.
For me, Robin's guitar tone & Jim's voice were a matched set.

Love the interplay between the vocals and guitar that he and Robin pulled off so effortlessly

But I do know who Sonny Gray is, and I know you're also acutely aware of him. And you're also probably aware that he tossed a complete game: 1 hit, 11 K and needed just 89 pitches to do it against the Guardians yesterday.

It hasn't been a stellar year for Gray but that was a tremendous performance.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming, Polack MSgt!

Sonny had a career day and then they claw back from a 6-1 deficit to win the next day.

He has been playing since the 60s and is still playing out (although he had to cancel his 2024 US tour for health reasons).

My personal fave of his. We used to do it on occasion in one of my old bands.

January 1974. Only Robin Trower album ever owned was Bridge of Sighs. That was my first memory of Trower for many years.

Only Robin Trower album ever owned was Bridge of Sighs.

Thanks to the internet learned that Trower was in Procol Harum. First concert ever was Procol Harum opening for The Doors at Winterland and also saw Procol Harum headlining at Fillmore West in late 60s when still in high school.

Money from summer job in 1969 bought two Heath Kits (an amp and a FM receiver) mail order and KHL speakers and a Garrard turntable at Pacific Stereo on Shattuck in Berkeley plus 5 records that included the Procol Harum album with A Whiter Shade of Pale.
