The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsGood morning my DU family,
In Godfather II, young Vito Corleone is fired from his job to make room for "The Black Hand's" nephew. He arrives home and offers his wife a pear.
She was visibly delighted.
Most of us find the greatest pleasure comes from the little things in life and the joy we feel is exquisite as we get that perfect flavor or the perfect photo, or the sweetest note that melts our hearts.
Please give us a day filled with opportunities to experience the immense pleasure of doing the little things, and the stillness that allows us to receive them as well.
Have a fantastic day DUers,
Love, John

Its really hard to find any pleasure now with the hub in long term care. Ive never cried so much in my life. Can you possibly send me a big dose of Dopamine? (joking)
I admire your spirit and pray 2026 will be a good year for you.

(5,005 posts)Believe me, I can relate to a tee as my friend Rory was such an integral part of so many parts of my life, that I'm right where you are. Frozen in place with no real desire to move on from here.
Please know my tears are shed in full understanding of this incredible loneliness and I wish I had an answer for either of us other than it took decades to build a relationship of that quality, so to expect a replacement in days or weeks would be silly.
God Speed Ziggysmom, Happy New Year to you as well. Fingers crossed
