We had some Sunday night and were able to give blood Monday morning. We were both turned down Friday due to low hemoglobin (iron) and after 3 strikeouts we resorted to the liver and onions Sunday night.

For worst food I’ll go with tripe. I’ve had it home cooked and blech. But did have it once cooked by a fine Sicilian chef and it wasn’t bad.

When we first moved to Oklahoma, I tried catfish at a restaurant, and it tasted like an ammonia-soaked rag. Turns out, that ammonia taste in catfish means it is spoiled. After that, we went to many a local fish fry and catfish was delicious. Now we are in Ohio and pollution prevents us from eating any bottom-feeding fishes.

As a kid I learned to cut it in tiny pieces and swallow whole (like a pill) and then wash it down with a gulp of milk. I was very careful not to let any part of the food touch my tongue. I literally put the tiny bits in the back of my throat. Mom didn't care as long as it disappeared off my plate, was not hidden in my napkin or fed to the dog.

When I was a kid, I loved liver & onions.
My parents would take us out to eat and when the waitress asked me what I wanted, I'd order liver on onions with a slice of lemon.
The waitress would look at my parents thinking maybe they were making me get that.
My parents would say "He really does want that. He loves it."
And, it's your #1 as worst ever.
I lost my taste for it when I learned what the liver does!
