Socially fearful cats

I've had several like these. The one I have now is semi- social. He' ll come downstairs to see what's going on but he just slowly walks around and greets everyone then goes back upstairs.

She knows how to open the door by herself and is content to stay under the sink for hours.

...or someone knocks, but then they immediately come back upstairs and start interacting with whoever came in. Weird.
