Saw them many times! 🩷

19, I think.
Pre Tommy, and my first show was the last of their power pop stage look.
Tommy at The Filmore East!
Shows from 1970 - 1989.
Skipped the 90's.
Then ?2015, and 2019 the last one.

One of my 5 favorite bands!

I've only seen them once, in the early 2000s, at Hershey Park Stadium in Hershey, PA.

I'll tell you how I got into this band.

Summer of 1973. I was 14, and had just acquired my working papers. So in the the summer, I would work 4 hours in the morning, then go and meet my girlfriend at a public pool for afternoon swim. You had to pay 25 cents to buy a ticket to get into the pool.

On the little ticket booth countertop, someone had taken a knife and carved in the words "See me, feel me" (referring to the Tommy album). This is burned into my memory for some reason.

They would close the pool for dinner, and then reopen around 6 pm? I would go and work a few more hours while the pool was closed, and then go AGAIN to night swim, meeting my girlfriend at the pool again.

Sometimes we would swim, and sometimes we would just sit under a tree and make out, while the pool PA system BLASTED the Tommy album. Such great, detailed memories. I've loved this band ever since then, because they evoke those memories for me.
