(54,735 posts)Not only was I *not* taught how to skip, but my Kindergarten teacher used this "criteria" as justification for insisting that I repeat Kindergarten and not be forwarded to first grade.
My parents had to take me to a juvenile psychiatrist for an IQ test in order to override my teacher's "recommendation". (I tested above-average.)

(1,252 posts)Thats terrible. I assume that was in the 60s when, for me anyway, teachers were great at shaming children. Im sorry this happened to you.

(113,607 posts)I think, frankly that most in the video have very inflexible (or painful) hips so they just don't get the motion of skipping. I think there was one in the video who mostly did, but...
I have a bad ankle so I would not be all that willing, either...
