Just listened to an audio book

I've been listening to books by Peter Grainger. The first that I listened to are British police procedurals. I like the characters, the plots, the descriptive passages. I listened to the Sergeant Smith series, and wondered if I'd missed one or two, or read them out of order. But there is another series, tied into the last books of the this series and some of the things I thought I'd missed are actually included as part of the story line in the King Lake Investigations. I couldn't find any more books from either series, but saw another book by Grainger with another detective and other characters. This one is titled Lane, (A case for Willows and Lane #1) If you're looking for a mile a minute action read, I found this on You Tube. It is a 5 hour listen and I didn't want to stop listening. Hoping there are more in the series. I really like this author and I'm going to look for anything he writes.

when I commuted an hour each way to my job. Saved my sanity entirely! Unfortunately now my car has a dam, Bluetooth connection which works about half the time and is not conducive to such.

I doubt if I could listen in the car. I'd probably wreck! There's a lot to be said for technology we retired. We had some books on CDs and when my husband was driving, listened to them. Now, no CD player.

I wish I had my old cat back anyway. I just don't like this one for a myriad of reasons and I'm mad that I let my husband talk me into it.

I listened to all of them last summer and fall.

I noticed that the last few detective novels I like are set outside of London. The main character is an experienced police detective, who guides a younger team. I listened to books by E.C.R. Lorac featuring Robert MacDonald, and J.R. Ellis, featuring DCI Jim Oldroyd. All of the series are murder mysteries, and not graphic.

I have read Gatward, Gatland, Grainger Blake etc. In that type of story. I get them confused. All 👍 👍
