The Lindamood Regatta was held yesterday

It's a crew competition on the Muskingum River in Marietta, Ohio. I love watching from the Putnam Street bridge, which spans the Muskingum just past the finish line. The races are 2K, and you can't see the beginning of the race unless you go upriver. The shells come into view as they clear a gentle bend in the river. For the first time, there was a professional drone we could link to to see the starting line. I checked it a few times, to see if a race had started. The river is still high from the rain, and there is still flotsam to watch for. Yesterday, one of the shells was damaged and that cre couldn't race. No one was hurt, but I bet the team members were disappointed. The team members condition for 2 hours, 5 days a week, and more on their own on top of that.

The weather was a little cool. The sun was hot on one side, and the wind was cold from the other. We had company from out of town, visiting other relatives, but they came to Marietta to see the regatta, so we had a cheering section with people from Maine and Maryland and Ohio. My son-in-law got back from out of town in time to see his daughter race.

My granddaughter is a novice this year. Her 4 boat won their race and her 8 boat came in 2nd in their race. Again, I am so proud I could bust
