Outlander Ending: Spoilers! (I can't believe there was no DU Outlander thread!)

OK. SO, really, if you're gonna watch it, Close this thread RIGHT NOW! You've been warned!

---------------------------------------------------------------

So According to Sam, in an online official interview he shot just after the wrap, the ending is intentionally ambiguous, allowing viewers and readers to decide what happened.

In a different interview, also official , Catriona admitted she was unclear about what the ending really meant.

And there are written interviews with Diana Gabaldon saying she needs the threads to remain untied so she can finish writing her books 9 and 10, which were not really covered in the TV show. Apparently, she was not keeping up with the show runners and their shooting schedule.

SO-

Not being a reader, I think the TV show used a couple of the written themes that I've read about, with her hair turning white and being the white witch and possibly being able to rejuvenate the dead....in order to leave the ending open.

But the TV watcher in me thinks the TV show needed to end a character or two just cause. Ya know, the show ended.

BUT!

There were things in the writing of the show that really didn't match Clare's MO: She literally dropped her medical bag and ran up the kill to the battle, right into it. She never would have done that before: She would have remained safe, helped the injured, and made sure she could stitch Jamie up. She also would have returned to the ridge with Roger and Brianna.

She also NEVER opened Jamie's shirt to see if she could stop the damage. Nor did we ever see much blood at all.

AND, no one searched the shooter for weapons or knocked him out or even tied his hands. WTF???

SO!

WTF??????

Suddenly, the rules of the story just, drop away??? Everything we've been taught for 10 years about Clare wasn't really her?

I dinna ken. What say ye?

the ending. Did Jamie and Claire die together? Was she a White Witch.going by the total white of her hair. Too much time spent on Faith, Janie and Fanny. Too many unanswered questions. Don't get me wrong, Read all of Diane's books and the series. But they took liberty with some of the characters--Henri-Christian was killed in the fire, not Fergus. I Think they needed a few more episodes to close the saga.

Personally, I expected Jamie to die, but not Clare. I think they both awoke in the afterlife, but who knows?

But it seemed that every episode had her getting raped or eventually him getting raped. I couldn't handle it.
