Good morning my DU family,
My yesterday started with the following little sticker pasted onto the back window of a pick up truck. It said something of the sort of I love Trump and fuck your feelings. That was really painful to see, as it gives life to everything we believe he's done to this great country.
I have to live the opposite of that message, as my life depends on caring about your feelings and hopefully making your day more beautiful in some small way.
For me, beautiful days almost always begin with a recognition of some sort that then sets the tone for the rest of the day.
Some days, I slept well, some days, it's the way Cuddles comes running when I first call him in after his night out, and sometimes it's just waking with a joyful heart.
The main thing that makes it easier is to tune out all the garbage, all the negativity that's around us, and yes, that includes most news, as 90% of that is stuff that doesn't affect me directly and stuff I can't do much about.
I'm not talking about being insensitive or mean, just decent. That's not too hard.
Please give us a day filled with opportunities to overcome the darkness of these times, and to help light the way for those nearest us.
