I do love steel cut oats made in the crockpot...ready in the AM for breakfast..... I must say the ground flax seed gives things a nutty flavor I like but I eat cautiously...fiber GI stimulant there....as the steel cut oats can also provide.... Just saying...for me anyways...

I make enough for 6 servings, eat 4 freeze 2. Takes about a hour, start to finish. I use various sugars very sparingly: brown sugar, maple syrup, molasses or jam. I like cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom and a bit of ginger. I've never had GI spikes, my blood sugar stays low. I don't eat any animal products. I try to eat organic as much as possible.

Love your selections of spicing it up.....I tend to go with fresh raspberries, walnuts...butter. Always a great breakfast for me....Oh, plus toast and coffee.

Cartoons and a big bowl of Lucky Charms (not you, Lucky Charms) would be good about now.
