I agree that anything is better than nothing.
My daughter is a massage therapist in a fairly small community. She has ladies bring her vegetables from their gardens, things they can, things they baked, things they sewed, and I'm sure men have done something similar. Give anything you can with a statement that you wish you could do more. Do you have anything to barter? Whatever happens, enjoy every second of your massage.

I would say a 20% or 25% tip would be fine if you get a good massage.
