50 year friend and former lover had her diagnosis of A.L.S. confirmed.

Waiting for more prediction about if she has months or years to live and in either case, face a horrible end of life.

That is an awful diagnosis. There are not many that are that bad.

Does she live in a state that permits assisted suicide? I know Oregon has it and it can bring peace, knowing that the horror can be avoided.

My thoughts are with you both.

10. She lives in PA. No assisted suicide. Most, if not all states that have it, require a 6 month residence before

allowing it. If she were able to travel, she would have a couple of nations she could go to. Travel is not an option, She has no mobility from her waist down.

She had thoughts of accumulating meds for one big dose but her meds are given and monitored by staff in the acute care unit of her assisted living facility.

13. no, I don't believe so, friend had ALS about 20 years ago and as a veteran they really stepped up to the plate

such a cruel disease. if she isnt in hospice, she shd b. they do wonderful work.
