it was hazardous yesterday

i went out to an office supply store today and as i was walking in, wearing my mask, an elderly lady was coming out of the store and said: "i need one of those" (referring to my mask). i told her i wear them all the time, inside stores, at work, and even outside the last couple of days b/c of the smoke.

she told me she has problems with her lungs (went into some detail) and i agreed she should definitely be wearing a mask. she wasn't sure where to get them and i told her the name of the company i get mine at and the price. i said if you don't remember the company name you can just google and i'm sure you'll find something.

then i went into the store. they didn't have what i had gone there for. i left without buying anything. when i came out i was wondering why i thought i had to go there today--there was almost a sense of urgency. then i realized it was for her -- if only to make her aware that other people wear masks and get her to realize she should get a few because she is at such a high risk.

so, essentially, mission accomplished.
