I gave Twilight her first piece of bacon in a long while. It was only a little bit.

She can't thank me enough. She's all over me. Does anyone know if bacon is really bad for cats? I'd be tempted to have some on hand if one little piece a day is going to make her this happy.

I don't think it will be a problem if it's only a little treat. The Velveteen Ocelot Nov 2012 #1

It's pretty fattening, so she probably shouldn't have a lot of it. My cats go crazy for bacon, and also ham. They get little bits when I have some; the only problem is that if I give them some they don't forget, and they keep wanting more. One of them can be a horrible pest if he knows I've got ham or bacon. So watch out for that.

Every now and then is not a big deal. Bacon is one of the very few people food items I feed my dogs, but I do so very rarely.
