DRUM

&feature=vmdshb

My newest video. If you like percussion, you might like this. The avatars are each playing different percussion sounds in a synchronized fashion. It's not pre-recorded. Very impressive sounds considering none of the drummers are in the same room let alone country.

DRUM performs live at "Of Sound Mind" in Second Life.
Filmed by Larkworthy Antfarm.

Members of the DRUM group have collaborated to create the unique sounds, drums, and animations that enable this performance. The performances are live, not pre-recorded music. The sounds are created right within Second Life then sent out and back in via stream.

Drum Director: Brigitte Kungler
Drummers: Lorin Tone, dmom2Kdarwin, LadySlipper Constantine, atrebor zenovka, Skydiverwataishi Fall.

I have no idea about the creation or second life (other than it is some type of alternate web universe sort of game thing) but the effect was cool to this luddite

Each person has their own avatar. These drummers make their own sounds independently of each other and somehow it comes together. One of the women invented a machine that plays the various drum sounds on command. Another created the movements. Each one manipulates different sounds in sequence. It is LIVE and varies with every performance. I was impressed by their show. It was pretty awesome. Sometimes the most incredible art is being made in SL.
