(60,010 posts)And, lately, about Bob's Burgers.
OriginalGeek
(12,132 posts)you need to get you some Justified. Easily my favorite hour drama. Timothy Olyphant is a national treasure.
I also love Bob's Burgers and Modern Family.
We are big fans of Grimm at our house - it's silly fun. - Grimm's fairy tales made real and the cop who has to catch all the weird creatures.

(60,010 posts)Got Justified..it is a fun watch... while Raylan is a cutie, I actually have been a fan of Walter Goggins who plays Boyd Crowder, he is from Birmingham, Al.
I will check out Grimm..have heard about it.Thanks.
OriginalGeek
(12,132 posts)and Walter plays him perfectly. I used to love him on The Shield.
Grimm episodes are somewhat self contained with a main story each week but there is also an ongoing plot-line that needs to be seen in order so start at the beginning.

(28,749 posts)I love this show, I know it's a procedural legal drama (with some big embellishments) but it's great to watch and the story arcs have been fun.
The show also has quite a strong cast! It stars Julianna Margulies, Christine Baranski, Archie Panjabi, Matt Czuchry, and Josh Charles, and features Chris Noth, Nathan Lane, Michael J Fox in a recurring roles.

(60,010 posts)I had given that a pass just from the title and topic...maybe I am missing something, like really really good writing or plots or funny as hell????

(903 posts)and if you like the genre- then yes, it's a pretty good viddy. with generally good writing and plenty of quality production values/special effects. the half-hour fan show Talking Dead that follows it, with real-time discussion of the night's episode with celebrity guests is just the icing on the cake.
when you add the aforementioned shows with 60 Minutes, the Amazing Race, Family Guy, and American Dad-
(and seasonally adjust for True Blood)
sundays are the biggest tv night of the week in our house.

(5,604 posts)Like all great shows its best to start from the beginning. There are only 2 or 3 episodes left until it takes a 2+ month hiatus. If you are curious, you could probably check out season 1, 2 and the first half of 3 in the meantime.

(903 posts)at the end of season 4 (trinity).
you're lucky- you won't have to wait a full year for a resolution.
i started watching Dexter after the 4th season- and i watched all 4 seasons over a 3-day weekend.
same story with Breaking Bad- 4 seasons in 3 days.
you just can't stop watching them.

(100,102 posts)Trinity was without a doubt one of the craziest, creepiest villains in recent history. John Lithgow was so great in this role it almost kind of sucked that they killed him off.

(28,394 posts)Not sure if it is still on.
I am totally addicted to Boardwalk Empire.
The Newsroom and VEEP (both on HBO) were good, too. I don't watch much TV, except MSNBC, Jon Stewart, etc... but I made a point of recording those shows.

(60,010 posts)Never even heard of it till now...will check it out.
Boardwalk Empire was a slow starter for me, than I got hooked.
Good Wife is terrific, indeed very "compelling" as they say.

Walt: I'm the cook. I'm the guy who killed Gus Fring.
Dealer: Bullshit. Cartel got Fring.
Walt: Did they? Now say my name.
Dealer: You're Heisenberg.
Walt: You're god damn right.
