The best time was at The Tabernacle in Atlanta. A shockingly small venue.

My wife and I were at the front of the balcony, about 40 feet from them.

Something was wrong with Steve Howe's array of guitar rigs as soon as he started playing and he angrily communicated with someone offstage. A dude ran out and started messing with the cables around him, fixed whatever it was, and disappeared.

Steve did not miss a chord that we noticed and played to perfection during the crisis. We still have no idea what the problem was.

The concert was fantastic. This was their 'Ladder' tour.

From Wikipedia:
The track "Lightning Strikes" borrows the opening flute solo from The Kinks' song "Phenomenal Cat" from the album The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society

The first time I heard that song, I recognized that sampling instantly.

The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society is the Kinks' Sgt. Pepper.

Hi,

I have seen them so many times I would have to count all the ticket stubs that I have saved to figure out the number. Check out their last CD on the shelves with a new singer. It is definitely worth a listen, several times in fact.
