(39,961 posts)I'm pretty magnanimous, too, but I prefer a deep dish style with double cheese, mushrooms, and whatever else as long as bell pepper isn't included. I destest bell pepper.

(39,961 posts)That sounds awesome, actually. Any crust you want with that on it

(36,063 posts)layer in the toppings, remembering what is on the bottom will become the top...
I usually put in pizza spiced tomato paste in between layers.
When the bowl gets filled, stretch pizza crust over the top, allowing the sides to hang down an inch...this creates the bottom and sides of the pizza
bake for about 20 minutes...when done turn it upside down and lift off the bowl--this may be a bit tricky but there is usually a bit of give in the crust.

(39,961 posts)I'm going to have to try that out. I like mushrooms and tomatoes, along with double cheese on my pie.

(39,961 posts)I love Pan, but I can be persuaded to eat some lovely thin.

(19,089 posts)So there could be no amazement that I would select Brooklyn fold-over ...
But isn't Brooklyn style pizza considered to be 'thin crust' pizza? .... A kind of melding of characteristics in your poll ...
We moved from the NYC area when I was ten years old, and we have been searching for 'our' NYC style pizza ever since: In California, in Missouri, and now in Oregon .... We always found some GREAT NYC style pizza in each place we lived, but it would take some time keep trying new places until you zero in on the perfect pie ! .... (It's NEVER a national chain restaurant)
Tips for those seeking the perfect NYC style pie:
1) Something in the store is painted with the colors of the Italian Flag ....
2) Picture of the pope hanging on the wall ...
3) Picture of JFK hanging on the wall ...
9 times out of 10, every luscious pie we loved came from stores with those attributes.
In Portland, we love Escape from NY pies .... At Escape ?: NO colors of the Italian flag ... NO picture of the pope ... NO picture of JFK ....
Hah ... go figure ....

(55,476 posts)Sometimes I want a cracker-like thin NY crust. Sometimes I want deep dish Chicago. Sometimes I want thin no crust California. And sometimes I want Italian that resembles Foccacia.
Aerows
(39,961 posts)But when you are in the mood for a great one, which do you go for? Mind you, I haven't met one that I won't eat (unless it has bell peppers - I detest bell peppers), but there is always one that is luscious.

(692 posts)Not deep dish and it's not thin crust either. More cheese and meats, veggies, etc. But, I live outside of Chicago...best pizza around!
Aerows
(39,961 posts)Is probably just how I like it. I like a deep dish with double cheese to start with, so, there you go LOL

(54,256 posts)They make it fresh, you take it home and bake it.
And there's a great thin crust selection.
Love it.

(39,961 posts)When I get to Chicago again, everyone from DU needs to meet up wherever that is made, and I'll buy!
We can take pictures, too.

(5,364 posts)I guess some call it "NY style" ( whatever the hell that means ) but to us from the northeast it's just pizza.
