1. It's fun to get dogs to howl

One of our past dogs would howl when he heard the long, low siren from the fire department, not frequent because it's only used to call extra volunteer fire fighters for structure or brush fires. My husband would say the dog heard the big Kahuna and was howling back at him.

2. The dog we had when I was in junior high school

would run into the room , jump an the bed and howl whenever my brother would practice his flute.

3. My long departed Rottweiler

would howl at any sirens she heard, police, fire and whatever.

6. I love the way the sides of their mouths come forward to make the "O" sound!

But I've had to tilt my head and keep howling to catch a glimpse because my dogs who've howled often seem self-conscious about it, and would stop if you looked at them.
