It's so much fun to complain
But this is not a complaint post.
I had to go to Florida over the weekend - family stuff - and everything went fine.
Flight was on time, and everyone from check-in through TSA to gate was pleasant, friendly, and professional. Sure, TSA rules are silly, and I can do without the body scan, but no one was rude or unpleasant or offensive.
Arriving in Florida, car rental people were nothing but upbeat and friendly, even though those jobs are probably awful - repetitive, routine, etc.
Motel desk clerk - talk about a a stereotyped "loser" job - was friendly. My debit card was declined because I hadn't cleared the card for Florida with my bank. The clerk wasn't offensive about it, I wasn't angry, and (thankfully) I had another card.
Restaurant wait staff also friendly, despite the fact that this particular restaurant is the latest of a string of failed restaurants in that location, so job security is probably iffy.
All the same on the return leg - airport shop and fast food people, TSA, etc. - pleasant, professional, and friendly (even if faux friendly). Also, flights were on time.
I know this stuff "doesn't sell newspapers," and I'm as ready as the next guy to bitch and moan about stuff, but I thought it would be useful to say nice things. Heck, I think my blood pressure is even going down.
