Every footstep mankind takes on this planet shapes what will be. Things are changing around us (climate, wars) but we're not going to end with a big bang on 12/21/12.

When will they realize that that star probably has it's own Oort cloud or something like it? and stop focusing on the easy stuff like comets. What about the big boys? Moons, planetoids and perhaps undiscovered planets being shifted?

Worse would be a very advanced and aggressive civilization anxious to clear the highway in front of their dwarf star.
