Why is DUs Album of the day always a Major Label release?

3. Actually this is a very good question and I would be happy to address it

I've tried putting lesser known albums out there for AOTD but ultimately the thread gets ignored by all.

So instead I select albums based on music that probably plenty of DUers have and enjoy listening to. It's nice to think that you've picked a record that others will take the time to enjoy that day too.

But if it makes you feel better when I do my AOTD on on Saturday (since I'm odd days) I'll pick 'DU Obscure Album of the day by Unsigned Artist' if you like.
