Lots of stars made their debut on Miami Vice....

I think that Don Johnson was a highly underated actor.

Such a damn shame.

and really enjoying them. Fact is, that Michael Mann had a real talent for cop shows/stories and his influence comes through very strongly in the Miami Vice TV show. Go watch his first big movie... Thief. You will see what I mean. Or a later movie that is probably better, Heat. Edit to add one more movie of Mann's: Manhunter.
