I am having a blue Christmas this year.

We were able to move in to the apartment mid Sep. We have been hunting jobs since then. We have found nothing. I saw a report today that the jobless rate went down here in Tucson. Why haven't we found jobs? We have good resumes, experience, clean recorders. But nothing.
I see felons get jobs, getting a life. We get to set here looking forward to a Raman christmas dinner.Add to it , the cliff thing. I am so tired of this.

ordinary rough time. The images are relentless of happy, well provisioned, handsome, perfect people having perfect times (while spending lavishly apparently without a care in the world).

It is designed to make people feel inadequate.

You have plenty of company my dear Lady Freedom Sings the Blues.

See, when we start working we get to pay 33.3% of the bills. Then it will start giving us a record if you will. It will help us start to get our credit back believe it or not. We have talked with a guy at a local bank and got a plan set up once we get working. But that is the big thing, a job.

I am going through the same damn thing. I don't even want to tell you how long I have been looking for a job. I haven't even been able to find temp work lately. I can go on for days with the job-hunt horror stories. It's really sickening to see the idiots who have jobs, while I'm watching my life go deeper into the toilet. I am beyond tired of it. I keep hearing about how the world is supposed to end, and at this point, all I can think is, "We should be so lucky".

IL unemployment is still at 8+ percent and is not lowering at all. I keep seeing my bank account spiral down and I can't even get an interview. I'm scared to death of what's ahead for me in the new year.

Hoping and praying that things pick up and we all get wonderful, new jobs!!

Imagine how you'd feel if you didn't have a significant other to have sex and cuddle sessions with.
I'm 41 and never had a girlfriend; and, frankly, if not for having a mother whom it would destroy, I'd just kill myself already since there's really no good reason to ever get out of bed.

Incidentally, if you or your spouse have marketing skills, perhaps you could market my book and/or website, StopLittering.com

In Dallas, I might be able to help, but the only person I know in Tucson was rather forcibly retired from her job.

My last copy was on a flash drive, it was grabbed by a pack rat that took into the walls of a shelter I was staying at in MO.

I thought it didn't rain too much down there. I hope I'll be seeing my Tucson friend next week, but she's still recovering from a serious gunshot wound, and may not make it (understandably enough) to South Carolina, which is where I'll be for my first week in the States. We usually met up there with some others for New Year's.

Here's hoping for a gradual upward climb in your fortunes!

(A pack rat stole your flash drive? How bad can your luck get?)

I have been broke so many Christmasses in a row, I have lost count.

But you know what? I've learned to view the whole Christmas thing as for kids. I put a tree up ( not much trouble - it stores decorated lol ) for the neighbor kids to see as they ride by, because kids still need magic, even if I am bah humbug.

I am way underemployed, scraping by on odd jobs and family help, and I agree the job hunt is not fun at this time. It can get really depressing when you see the ads - so shut your eyes when you're watching TV if you have it! I don't have TV and I find I don't feel as "lacking" when I can't see all the "perfect people" telling me what I MUST have.

A tip if you haven't tried it: Use indeed.com and use the advanced search function so you get want ads that are only a week or a few days old. I've found jobs through them a few times. Maybe an employment agency might have something?

Keep on keeping on. I just know you'll be posting here soon that you both got jobs....

I'm emptying out a storage unit to save money. I may need to pawn a few things to get us through this pinch that moving has put us into. I'm waiting to see how many of the things I've put on consignment sell before I panic.
