My SO named her dog Cooper, after my alma matter the Cooper Union....
In turn, I named my dog (sigline) Millie, after her mom.

I got the name Cooper from the Cooper River, one of two rivers that etch out my hometown.
I still call her kitty.
(I named my last cat Hamilton on the way out the door to the vet's office for the fist time because I knew they'd ask for a name. It came from a blender - Hamilton-Beach, lol)
