Despite being sick: still going out for New Year's Eve Dinner

I figure that at least I won't have to cook or clean up afterwards.

I'll be in bed before the ball drops (asleep, hopefully, but the way I've been coughing.... who knows?)

I really don't understand why when people are so sick they rarely feel like doing anything but lay in bed and are coughing that they must go out and mingle with others.

If you are that sick, stay home. Enjoy a quiet New Years celebration with family. Don't infect others just because you didn't want to cook or clean up. Have some take-out or get a friend or family member to cook for you.

This is already shaping up to be a rough and early flu season. Why contribute to more illness?
