It's Black Monday in the NFL

The day after the last regular season game is the day when many coaches and general managers get fired for their team's poor performance.

So far:

Bear fire Lovie Smith
Eagles fire Andy Reid
Jets fire GM Tannenbaum
Bills fire Chan Galley
Chiefs fire Crennel
Chargers fire Norv Turner and GM AJ Smith
Browns fire Pat Shurmur and GM Tom Heckert

I've been a Bears fan for 40+ years. Lovie had a unique coaching style that worked for what he was given.

Can't wait to see who they replace him with. /sarcasm

And, if I didn't hate the Packers enough...make me watch the damned game, make me pray they win, then make me watch them lose to the Vikings. Ugh.

Lovie wasn't good enough to meet expectations, but who are you going to replace him with that would be any better?

Jay Cutler is one of the crappiest quarterbacks in the league, IMO.

Then the next problem is they put him behind the weakest offensive line in history.

playing on the rival teams. That's 2 less games than the Patriots won, and they play in the worst division in the entire NFL.

The Bill have not made the playoffs since 1999. The Dolphins have stunk ever since Marino retired. The Jets? Two words: butt fumble.

Well, Rex isn't horrible, but if you dump the GM, you should dump the coach, as well, or you are taking the most important decision out of the new GM's hands.

I agree with you 100% that it has to be more difficult to hire a GM when he can't bring in his own coach.

And I think the Jets could upgrade Rex this off season based on who is available. I'm no Tebow as a quarterback fan but that whole thing was FUBAR - and they all had a hand in it.

He came in like '06 and '07 and successfully turned a Super Bowl contender into a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 2 years. Their record worsened each season under him.

Now I'm just hoping for the Raiders to fire Knapp. He was here before and didn't do shit, so what were they smoking when they rehired him?

There are three unfixable things in the universe:

The Greek economy
The Republican Party
And the Detroit Lions
