Update on MFM rehab therapy Thurs Jan 10:

.
After evaluation by the staff during therapy, they've decided I'm in
PRETTY good shape (and just plain ol' PRETTY) and my expected
date of release is Monday Jan 14.
.
I'm in agreement and happy with all those determinations.
.
.
I don't need much... but I do need a little.
.
.
.
Therapies don't start before 8 AM here... and I let them know I'm
a nightowl, so none of mine will start before 9. Seriously... they're
THAT accommodating.
.
I just found out that this center ranked #1 in the state in their
patient evaluation follow-up surveys. I have NO reason to doubt
this.
.
I was running late this morning and rushing to get ready by 9...
but when I looked at my therapy schedule (delivered just before 9),
I find I have nothing until 11.
.
Unexpected naptime is therapeutic too, dontcha know?
.
.
I told one of my favorite therapists what is probably a non-PC joke.
She loved it and told it to some of her co-workers. Not a single one
of them laughed -- some even looked shocked that she would tell
such a non-PC joke.
.
She told it to a few of the older female patients and said that they
laughed their asses off.
.
Ain't that always the way?
.
.
.
How do you get an older woman to use the F-word?
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Have somebody nearby shout, "BINGO!!!"

The controls all have illustrated adjustment controls.
.
At the foot of the bed, there's one with a normal-sized
patient laying down in the bed and two slightly
smaller-sized people are laying down and ready to slide
into bed at the foot of it.
.
Last night I decided that's the tagteam bedbath setting.

... are more acute cases -- people who have a shot at returning to a relatively
normal life -- so they see definite and major improvement in the people they're
treating.
.
They have pretty acute therapists here, too.
.
Many of them have a similar look. They're not Amazons, but many are really tall
and slender -- they could be dancers. And they ALL have amazingly good posture.
.
And they're ALL committed to returning me (and all their patients) home in the
best possible shape.

... I'd like to regain my freedom. They really strive to make their restrictions
as unintrusive as possible, but the restrictions are there.
.
.
Soon enough, soon enough I'll be there again -- and largely due to their help.
