I private messaged two relatives on FB.
Neither of them replied to me...but they found time to post quotations on their wall/timeline/whatever is, complaining about certain types of people they don't like.
Is it just me, or do a lot of people not communicate directly anymore?

(18,184 posts)I replied with a link to a video of a pop song.
No direct communication, just the implied message from the lyrics of the song.

(18,184 posts)I admit facebook is useful for getting in touch with long lost friends/relatives/whatever but...it's also a license for narcissists to update you on every single brainfart they ever have.

(5,317 posts)I like the posts that directly call out who and what they are mad at with specific details. And the exchange that follows.

They're entertaining at times.

The never ending games updates people are playing. And the requests from people inviting me to play those games. I did learn, however, that those requests are no longer under the control of the people who play the games (they did used to be when I was playing some of the games).
shit like this:
Will one of my face book friends copy and paste (I am counting on a true family member or friend to do it). If you would be there for me no matter what then copy and paste this. I'm doing this to prove a friend wrong that someone is always listening. I care. Hard to explain to someone who has no clue. It's a daily struggle being in pain or feeling sick on the inside while you look fine on ......the outside
which showed up on my newsfeed a while ago. Hello???? If I copy and paste that, how the hell are someone else's friends going to see MY page. Since my page is private and all...
Oh, and people constantly advertising whatever shit they're selling, be it Girl Scout cookies or Avon, or crappy second hand furniture in their antique furniture stores.
Wait, one more...one of my stepdaughters who must, at this point, have 30 or more photo albums containing more than 7,000 photos total. It was 6,000 when I counted them up three years ago. OK I can appreciate people being proud of their photos, but really...6 identical photos of the same damned thing?
Other than that...it's good.

(1,136 posts)those who post the references to their miserable lives is cryptic detail, and when you comment "hope everything is ok" or some such drivel, you get the "PM me" response.
Well, if I wanted to PM you, I would have.
My other fave are those that post things just to have people post back to tell them how great they are.
