Anyone ever been to Minute Clinic here?

I think I have the flu, and don't want to wait to go to my doc Monday or waste a visit to an Emergency Clinic for something not all that critical.

I can't really remember the last time I had a flu, that's why I'm not sure..lol.

Just wondering if anyone else has an experience to share.

Thanks.

They are normally staffed with nurse practitioners, and they know their stuff.

When in doubt, GO!

And I hope you feel better...

I am all about efficiency, so I think that's what I may do. I'd say this was a bad cold, however I'm achy and have a 99.9 fever, which isn't high for most, but my normal temp is 96.8...lol.

I hope you get to feeling better, yourself!

My doctor actually told me to use them, MC charges $21, my PCP charges $80.

Very nice nurse practitioners here. My need, of course, is minimal since I am not sick and it's just a vitamin shot.

They really can help to streamline the medical system. I sure don't want to bog up an ER, I'm not that bad off..and I don't feel that bad off even to go to one of the emergency clinics. I'll leave that to those who really need those services. My deal should be easily diagnosed and cared for.

Thanks very much for your response!

for a persistent cough that I thought would get better on it's own.

The flu is nothing to mess around with...GO TO THE CLINIC!!! NOW!!! That's exactly what they are there for!

Good luck!

I can't go back to work until the fever breaks for 24 hours.

I only had to wait about 40 minutes, and the practitioner was very nice and helpful.

Back to sleep I go..lol.

I wasn't ill enough to require his services, so he recommended an OTC and we were done.

Needless to say, if I needed to go back, I would!

I love the nurse practitioners and it's easier to get an appointment. I only go to a regular office for my yearly well woman and that's done by the office midwives!

I haven't been seen by an MD in six years.

It wasn't Minute Clinic but I got good care. I'd go back if necessary even though it wasn't nearby. These days the emergency rooms are full with flu sufferers so I'd go to the clinic if I were you.

Went today to the clinic. It's the flu. Since I've had it 4 days, it's too late for Tamiflu. I can go back to work when the fever breaks for a day.

It took about 40 minutes or so to be seen, and the practitioner was great!

Off to rest I go.
