The idea back then was that everyone was going to have their own airplane.

I'm sure it was a marketing idea trying to promote the utility of the aircraft. The Stinson 108 is a tail dragger that is relatively easy to land compared to other tail draggers.

A spin is caused by an aircraft entering an aggravated stall while in uncoordinated flight. An airplane can't enter a spin unless it stalls. If you design an aircraft that is hard to stall, it will be "spin resistant".

It was "not rated for aerobatics".

I'm not sure when Piper wised up and stopped doing that, but Stinson may have been responding to that in their marketing. Nice planes, anyways!
