Lead Me Home is the name of the episode. I've been going through withdrawal since the last episode in early December.
I'm wondering what the outcome of the Merle-Daryl showdown will be (and, don't forget their other brother, Larry!)
I hope they can do Tyreese justice on the show - he was one of my favorite characters in the graphic novels. And, I hope they can give Michonne a bit more to do than look angry. I get the impression that the producers wanted to get her in there because she's a fan favorite, but weren't sure what to do with her the first half of the season.

(13,447 posts)After Rick leaves the hospital, he goes up a hill and sees what's left of a military encampment. All I could think, was why in the hell doesn't Rick bring that up when he finds Camp Dinnerbell?? He says that he needs to go back to Atlanta to get his bag of guns, yet never mentions that he knows where there are Humvees and tons of other boxes containing who knows what. The Humvees would certainly be much more useful than their regular cars and the motorhome. And those boxes could've contained precious medical supplies, food, ammo, weapons, etc. Plus, there wasn't a single Goddamn zombie anywhere near it.

(46,755 posts)They were trying to connect with some organized human encampments, like the CDC? right?
I don't even remember where they began.
charlie and algernon
(13,447 posts)afterall, they did go back to Atlanta for the guns. I think the bigger reason the producers don't have them go back is because you open up questions about why they don't go back for Morgan and his son.

(56,828 posts)Shane had argued that the army/government was going to come any day now to start saving people, so they would start saving the largest groups of people first - those in or near the big cities, like Atlanta. (For some reason, the CDC never came into play in the comics - oversight?) That was why they initially stayed in Atlanta.
But, in the comics, they never really had a chance to go back - the moved from Atlanta to the haunted subdivision to Hershel's farm and to the prison because they were pushed there - "we're about to be overrun, let's get out of Atlanta and find the first safe place" and then "let's get out of this gated subdivision or we'll be overrun by the zombie hordes..." and so on & so forth.

(56,828 posts)in the comics, that was the first place they stopped outside of Atlanta. oddly, it was snowed over (in Atlanta?) and the gang stopped in there and Rick thought it was a great place. (they met Tyreese on the way there.) Unfortunately, it ended up that it was walker central and they were instead trapped inside the gated community the next morning and had to flee. It was there that Tyreese became a trusted friend of Rick by saving his life.

(56,828 posts)These are just guesses on my part for explanations.
1) Any sort of useful items guns, ammo, medicine, MREs, etc were already looted from the site.
2) The armored hummers offered more protection, but in a region where gas is scarce, they might not be able get very far with them. A regular unarmored hummer gets what, 8-10mpg? I would imagine an armored one is getting less than half that. So, in the 150 miles or so it took to get from East Podunk, Tennessee to Atlanta, one hummer is going to burn 50 gallons of gas or more. Granted, Dales Winnebago was going to get very little mileage, too, but it had sleeping areas inside.
I also rewatched Days Gone Bye not long ago, and I was surprised at how thorough they were in showing almost all those dead bodies outside the hospital with some sort of head wound/trauma. If not, the body was covered with dried blood in the head area. So, I'm guessing that the boxes were already shown as opened/damaged if you looked closely enough?
charlie and algernon
(13,447 posts)It would explain why Shane was driving around in that hybrid car, which is quite a bit more vulnerable than a Hummer, but gets MUCH better mileage.
I still think it would've been worth it to check the boxes just in case something was left behind. I tried looking to see their condition and it didn't look like they had been opened or damaged.

(49,445 posts)Which would be a lot harder to find. I mean, if you find an abandoned semi, you could fill it up that way, but that won't be common off of the interstates.
They're in Georgia, not New England. Here, they could siphon the home heating oil and use it in the Humvees in lieu of diesel. Down there, I think it's all natural gas or propane for heating. So your only source would be semi trucks, fuel stations that serve diesel, and maybe the fuel tanks for large buildings that have back-up generators.

This time they interviewed Glen.
I hope he makes it

She seems to do nothing but glower at people and things (occasionally looking
confused/suspicious).

But she's a damn fine glowerer. Erer. Or something.

NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)She is a hugely popular character in the comics/graphic novels, so the producers were anxious to include her in the show to please the long-time fans. However, since they brought her onto the show, they don't quite know what to do with her. So, they just have her running around & glowering, and occasionally killing some walkers.
I mean, they couldn't have her respond to Rick and say, "Yes, I knew Andrea..." - I wanted to yell at the TV and say, "say something!"
