Should be an interesting episode tonight - Rick and the gang in the prison, Tyreese's group and where they went, Merle & Daryl on their own, plus Andrea and the Gov in Woodbury. I hope they can manage it all together.

He says he's waiting for something, an answer.
Herschel tells him to come back into the prison. Rick says he can't and goes into the woods, alone.
The male prisoner is hitting on Carole. The two of them know that Rick is cracking.

(13,661 posts)Can't quite tell from the comments what happened with them.
And what about Andrea?
Rick was outside the prison when the governor attacked, and he got pinned down by machine gun fire, so couldn't get back. However, as the assault wound down, Rick was out of ammo and surrounded by walkers - then Daryl & Merle rescue Rick when he was about to get bitten.

(46,720 posts)prison.
Daryl and Merle had a fallout and Daryl realized his place was with Rick's group. He told his brother he was going back and it was up to him to come with him. Merle was concerned because he has history with Glen.
The next time you see the two brothers, Rick is about to get swarmed by three zombies. One zombie was in his face when one of Daryl's arrows pierces the zombie's head from behind. If that arrow had gone a little further, it would have hit Rick in the face. Anyway, Merle redeems himself by saving Rick's life.
It ends with the three of them outside of the fence of the prison with a yard full of zombies between them and the others in Rick's group which have had to retreat behind the interior prison fence.

(56,828 posts)The way they came in was through zombie central - did they go back out of the prison that way, or did they leave through the front door? Did they stop somewhere inside the prison?

(12,047 posts)Michonne the scowling mute ninja is horrible - speak already!!! I really think they just threw that character in there because she was a hit in the comics - she brings nothing to the series so far.
it's all becoming a little too cliche with Merle and Daryl and the Guv and duh Andrea and who gives a shit about Ranger Rick and his ghosts anymore?
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)and, she did rush out there to help save Hershel. However, I agree that I think the producers threw her out there and don't know what to do with her. (in the comics, Tyreese joined the group even before they got to Hershel's farm, with Michonne meeting the group after they got to the prison...)
What's cliche about Merle/Daryl? The fact that they were both whipped by their father? That Daryl went back to the prison? I think Merle's a bit of a wild card - I wasn't sure if he was going to turn on Daryl or not, and now I'm wondering if he's going to hold their plan to rob the camp outside of Atlanta over Daryl's head? Still not sure about Merle's loyalty - if it's an elaborate ruse by the Governor to plant somebody inside.
Baclava
(12,047 posts)I get Daryl is the white knight and Merle is the dark hat villain, but did they both go dumb? - they kill off all the walkers then leave a bunch of good looking vehicles behind and wander off back into the woods again? not me

(885 posts)at this point most of the vehicles are out of fuel or have been scavenged.
most humans are living off "nature" hence merles crack about searching for items in homes.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)but, a lot of the plot has been different - there were no Merle and Daryl in the novels... Tyreese joined the group right after they left Atlanta and before they got to Hershel's farm... Andrea never slept with Shane or the Governor... the Governor was more of brutal warlord from the beginning in the books, while he was more of a ruthless politician in the TV show... the group stuck together a bit more, too. Andrea, Tyreese, Michonne, etc were all together with, Rick, Glenn, Maggie, etc when they fought off The Governor... oh, and it was Dale that got his leg amputated in the books, not Hershel.
Hershel should also be gone by now. Rick should be the one missing a hand instead of Merle.
I take it for what it is... entertainment.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)for Rick to lose his hand and for Hershel to die - though, I think Dale died post-prison in the graphic novels (the cannibal encounters?)
I remember in season 1, when Merle sawed off his own hand, there was speculation that Merle would end up being The Governor on the show, and would lop off Rick's hand as revenge. Merle seems closer in personality to the Governor that was in the graphic novels, too. (tough guy/bully)
