What are the odds of a big meteor

strike? What are the odds of a big meteor hitting a given spot on earth? What are the odds of a big meteor hitting a moving spot, like a Carnival cruise ship? Nah. That's crazy. Way too much to hope for. But it would definitely be a sign.

Space dust and meteoroids pretty much all the time as the earth absorbs about 40 tons a day. Given how big space is and the time scales involved, the law of large numbers really takes hold.
