From link, that appears to not be working
By Amy Woolvett THE COAST GUARD NovaNewsNow.com
The community is waiting, hoping and praying for the safe delivery of the five men that were on a fishing vessel that capsized off the coast of Nova Scotia. While the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre have said they have spotted a life raft they will not say whether the men are on board.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre is attempting to rescue five fishermen who were on a Woods Harbour fishing vessel but high seas and strong winds are making efforts a challenge.
Dispatched search assets include a United States Coast Guard aircraft from Cape Cod and two Caniadian Coast Guard vessls---CCGS Sir William Alexander and CCGS Eark Grey alon with a Royal Canadian Air Force helicopter.
Tammy Harnish, spokesperson for Marine Forces Atlantic said that an emergency locator beacon was activated at 11:06 p.m. Sunday night on Feb. 17.
"At the time that the beacon was activated there were eight to ten metre waves, hurricane force winds and zero visibility," she said.
The current weather conditions have not improved with high winds and 10 metre swells.
It is expected that swells will continue to be from seven to 10 metres and subsiding to five to seven by evening. Tuesday morning it is expected to subside to three to five and down to two metres by Tuesday afternoon.
Poor conditions since emergency rescue teams were alerted have played a factor in rescue efforts.
Harnish said that the vessel was 120 km south east of Liverpool when the beacon went off.
The rescue attempts of the fishermen is said to be taking place off of Sambro.
Hundreds of local community members have posted prayers on Facebook that the men be brought back safely.
There will be a prayer vigil held at Calvary Baptist Church, Woods Harbour at 6 pm.
More will be updated as the story evolves.
