There's a football on the kitchen counter, next to the cooktop...

On the living room coffee table, there's a basketball.
A small pair of pink sneakers is on the dining room table, and a princess dress hangs from the back of a dining room chair.

A guest room floor is littered with cast off clothing (small sizes) and damp towels.
And all the lights are on.

The grandkids are here.

in the same direction at the same time.
Jack is 10, Charlotte is 5.

I shave and shower, dress, I'm ready for whatever the day brings.
I ask my daughter "What do you guys want to do?"
"Maybe the beach, or the zoo?"
"OK, I'm up for either. Just say the word."

We can't find Charlotte's shoes.
Or Jack's football.
He takes his football everywhere.

Charlotte doesn't want to wear the red T shirt.
She wants the pink one.
We look for it.

Jack can't find his favorite jersey.
We look for it.

I go back to my office and surf DU.
"Call me when you're ready."

"OK, we're ready!"

Charlotte doesn't want to sit next to Jack in the car.
Jack wants the window seat where Charlotte is.
We forgot the lawn chairs and the cooler.
Back in the house.

I come back and surf DU.
"Call me when everybody is IN the car and ready to go!"

Miz t. comes in and says "OK, they're ALL in the car."

I go out to the carport and Jack and his dad are tossing the football in the driveway.
Charlotte is playing with the cat.
Miz t. and my daughter are actually IN the car.
10 minutes later we're all in the car and pulling out of the driveway.
