Because I hate remembering my mistakes or verbal flubs, when I remember those past interviews at all.

(29,414 posts)Oh, right, those bad interviews
I do remember one where the HR person said she didn't know what the position I was interviewing for entailed or what kind of work I did. I groaned inwardly when I heard that. I didn't get the job, either.
An interesting comparison is that when HR has done my interviews, I didn't get the job. Whereas when I did get the job, I was interviewed by the person that would be my boss, usually an engineer.

but your essence is that of the alpha male.
it is overpowering to those who are (or perceive themselves to be) less than you

today seems to be the "job" conversation day.

I'm a good boss. A good employee.
But I like the freedom of setting my own schedule.

(29,414 posts)for those that love driving. While I like driving (especially fast curves!), long distances wear me out! I often have to take a nap after just a three-hour trip from Houston to Austin. I can't imagine driving the long distances my father would often do when we'd go out to Big Bend and other places. I'd have to rent a room halfway there!

You should try it. maybe a honeymoon trip.
One week last year everyday I was out by 4 AM. back home around midnight.
The money was good. I became a bitch on wheels. even I didn't like myself.
I become very aggressive when I'm working. it's my job to keep cars from running into the load.

Do you drive in front or behind the load? I know I've seen trucks in both places as well as just following. Just saw an escort today for a rather large crane, but they had a police escort in addition to the other escort truck.
I know I'm going to put to good use my new subscription to the magazine Texas Highways whenever my GF moves here. There are plenty of little towns and parks I'd like to visit, or re-visit anew

(72,300 posts)If my pole hit the bridge . . . the load won't make it.
Pole work only pays 10 cents a mile more. the risk are so much greater . . . it isn't worth it.
My largest wide loads have been 20' in New Jersey, I was out front alone. Up in Canada I was in front with police escorts. My longest load was the length of 3 big school busses end-to-end. FYI they do not bend going around curves.
