(81,304 posts)I thought he did a pretty good job tonight. Some tastelessness. It was more out there than the staid ol' Academy was used to. But I enjoyed it.

(4,033 posts)he isn't making any connection(s). It's like there's a glass wall between him & the audience. At times it appears that the presenters didn't make it to rehearsal either.
I think Seth is a one time only host.

(8,515 posts)is a fucking killer. I know someone who wrote for Seth on this and I had a feeling it was doomed from the beginning. Just the how far they were expected to go over the top was an issue that killed them from the beginning. Too Long, Seth looked like he was trying to people please, almost apologizing before every joke. It was hopeless...
The end was a complete bomb. Song for the losers....Not funny and too long.
The whole fucking thing should be cut by 30 minutes and the next Presenter should not be on stage that long or frequently..

(15,139 posts)heard of him before tonight. Neither did my daughter who's 19 and pretty tuned in to pop culture.
As far as his hosting, he was awful. Crude and not funny. Whatever class the show used to have has gone down the toilet.

(3,657 posts)his show Family Guy (nominated for a dozen Emmys) But then I saw him on late night shows crooning, like Frank Sinatra with a big band
He wrote that Ted movie starring Mark Wahlburg and he is a millionaire Dem who gives a lot of dough to political causes like gay rights and he's from New England area...Boston or Connecticut

(3,657 posts)And wow--he's worth 100 million and he's a real good guy
"MacFarlane was presented the Harvard Humanist of the Year Award for 2011 for his extensive body of work, his active, passionate commitment to Humanist values, and his fearless support of equal marriage rights and other social justice issues.
