Help ... please, from the computer genii at DU

and please make it in layman's terms.

My computer keeps going wacky at this site. Things are fine, then every once in awhile when I read a post some overlay the one above. It will clear when I refresh. However it keeps happening. Also, when it is whacked out the type on the"post a new discussion thread" is so small I can hardly see it! Oh and my smilies become smaller and out of line. Going blind here. This does not happen all the time.

I have a Toshiba lap top and running windows 7....any clues how I can fix this. I have no problems elsewhere! This is making me crazy!

1. Have you had this issue in just one browser or all browsers?

Maybe try updating software?

Also, what version of DU are you using? I used to have problems with certain versions on certain devices. Haven't had that issue in a while. I use "Classic" mode on my computer and :standard" on the phone.

3. The problem is only when I post a reply (very small print)

and then when I read threads...no other problems elsewhere. I am pretty new here.

I have no idea what version of DU I am using....how can I find out!

4. It makes me crazy....

for weeks it will be fine, then it zaps into bizzaroooo mode. The worst is the small print when I type a response...When I preview it is normal.

6. I'm running Windows 8 and don't have issues with DU in regular IE.

I've had some issues with alerts in the Metro browser.

7. I switched over to Classic...

then rebooted the computer...still having the same problem.

I guess I can see about updating hardware.

My computer will lock. sometimes for over an hour.
