For my future wife...

My fiancee and I are getting married in August; she has hinted at doing something as an alternative to fresh cut flowers, so for her birthday next week I made the following:

1. I like it!

2. Reminds me as a little girl of my grandmother's extensive collection of buttons....

Mesmerizing with so many pretty varieties (and she'd simply collected them over decades of sewing--not as a hobby)... I wish I could have gotten those buttons after she passed.... but very nice memories, nonetheless.

I think this is a nice idea.

5. My mom has tons of buttons...

And my daughter loves to play with them (sorting them, arranging them, etc).

Mom will be 83 in a week - I plan to give the buttons a good home when she passes on (a LONG time from now).
