Khiva: Historic slave-trading City of the Khanate with notable Muslim architecture in the Inner City
Tashkent: Lots of museums and historical buildings, as well as an architectuarally unique Metro
Plus, I have enough time for a 1/2 day visit to Moscow.
Looks like a great trip.

Friends of ours want us all to go on a Silk Road trip -- fortunately for them, they're millionaires. Unfortunately for us, we're not so no extended trip like that is in the near future. Would be fun, though.
