Tricks to help save cooking disasters. My mom and I once made a trifle. Hers was delicious.

But we forgot to add the rum. What do you do? Well my mom was a family doctor so she went and got a syringe from her medical bag and we added to the rum that way.

where he made pineapple upside down cake. After he pulled it out of the oven he discovered there was no pineapple. Without missing a beat he said, "Now underneath all that you put the pineapple!"

We use sherry in our trifle. Also we use Byrd's vanilla custard powder, you have to add your own sugar, so it's less sweet than the other packaged brands.

That was a good save!
