It was bit long but pretty darn good.

(38,439 posts)It took a while to see what was really going on..but. on second showing..
loved it more, and I will enjoy it more the next time..yes, a bit long..but terrific..and some other references that I will not forget.
Most haven't seen it, if you love satire, then you will love Rango...
.....In a way, it is up there with Cat Ballo, and Blazing Saddles..and that says a lot..

(38,439 posts)It works on 3 levels...one...it is funny and and lots of fun.
.................2......If a person knows lots about westerns and movies, well you can pick up a huge number of satirical jokes.
.................3...... If a person watches very carefully and is aware of the theater, some current events, and other kinds of satire, well it works on that level too. There is a moment where the characters are talking about an exam of some sort, and one holds out a finger...(it is just a moment) and makes a quick reference to a prostate exam given to men.not a comfortable feeling I might add. It is gone so quick, that most wouldn't see it, but I caught that one. There are so many, and it really is fun, there is an animal trying to cross the road, in the beginning, and there is this philosophical conversation about .....crossing the road....????? you know what I mean.....
If you haven't seen it......watch it and enjoy...lots of fun...
