Not hand-biting shy, just reserved. Dyna was a love. Not brilliant, but steadfast and wonderful with the kids and just a sweetheart. Females do have the characteristic of blowing their coat twice a year (whether spayed or not) so for a couple of weeks to a month you have to brush them constantly or be up to your eyeballs in fluffy fur. And sadly they don't live that long. But damn, they're nice dogs.
