This is a band I've liked for a long time and this off their new album and its pretty cool. Thought I'd share it with others.

(5,364 posts)I'd call it refined, "smooth" mellow hard rock. Like the lyrics.

(5,290 posts)They get into the operatic song style with the dramatic lyrics. I like it..

(13,324 posts)You should check out that site sometime if you haven't, it's about as definitive as you can get. They cover everything except nu-metal, glam metal/rock and the more "core"-ish metalcore bands. And those genres don't fit my definition of "metal" anyway.

(12,132 posts)all my cousins are pretty liberal. The ones I know, anyway.

(2,670 posts)When I go to the family things on that side it's me and one other person my great aunt who's liberal
OriginalGeek
(12,132 posts)Because of my mom and step-father.
My real dad's family (of whom I only have my grandpa and my aunt still with us) is liberal and, luckily, I live near both of them. Dad was kinda in the middle but his brother (My late uncle and husband of the one aunt on that side I have left) was radical liberal in his youth and only barely contained radical liberal in his older age. (My dad once told me that if the FBI ever came to ask me anything about my uncle to just clam up. I don't know nuttin. He was apparently pretty active in the 60's early 70s) Needless to say, my uncle was one of my favorite people in the world.
My mom's sister and her husband are two of my other favorite people in the world. I don't get to see them as often as I like but at least I do get to see them occasionally.
ANyway - to get back to the topic, here's more eastern inspired metal:

(12,132 posts)they were great at Maryland Death Fest a couple years ago.
I dig the Eastern sounding riffs in all these bands.

(12,132 posts)A friend of mine just gave me one of their albums like 2 weeks ago. It's good stuff.
He and I are going to see The Fixx tonight. Which has nothing to do with middle and eastern inspired metal but it's kinda funny how one thing leads to another...
