Flamebait for Lounge: "Life After People" narrator just said "Cats aren't too smart"!1

Dish is charitably (yeah-right, after raising prices) providing a few weeks "free" of the H2 (History2) channel, which is featuring this hour after hour of how everything manmade will eventually crumble and be overrun by vegetation and wild critters. (With the premise of "after people," what would have been more expected than everything manmade crumbling?!1)

One of the temporary survivors is said to be a certain breed (I missed what) of dog that will do all right for awhile without humans providing food because it is an excellent hunter/forager, but it will start with CATS because they are "plentiful and AREN'T TOO SMART"!1

Hookay, I'll be unavailable around here for the forseeable future...

I have nothing against dogs, but having owned both, cats are the better hunters.

Also, they are good at hiding from danger and getting "out of the way" by climbing trees and such.

I'm a dog lover myself, but I think cats would be much better at hunting. foraging, and just being able to get out of the way.

I think most domestic animals would suffer a large population drop-off. Cats would do okay because they're fairly stealthy and good hunters. Remaining dogs will eventually gather into packs to survive.

They won't go on my chair when I'm around, but when I walk into a room they are there. I yell and them and they run, only to do it again when I leave the room. So in a way, yeah they are stupid.
